Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Went Out Fishin

Sorry I haven't been posting the pages up, because for the past week I've been out fishing. Fishing is one of my many favorites thing to do, and I wouldn't miss it for the world. Yeah there's a downside of waiting for a bite, but hey patience is virtue. Once the fish clamps down onto the bait, it's so much fun fighting to reel it in. I think the whole point of fishing is catching it rather than keeping it, though I did kept a few. However, I kind of find it disgusting to eat your catch though. It's odd how we can eat things that we buy at a market, but we can't eat the ones we catch. While I was at the beach, I was lucky enough to see some people film (a movie? I think) near the Alamitos Bay. It seemed like they were filming an action film, cause there was a lot of fire.

YES I HAVE!!! IT WAS AWESOME!!! I CAN NOT WAIT FOR BIOSHOCK 2 TO COME OUT!! I heard that you actually meet Tenenbaum face to face and not some recycled splicer like the first game. There was one concept art of her. I don't remember where though.

SERIOUSLY! Gameplay is important and all, but I just want to know the WHOLE DAMN STORY and stuff! How is it that the very first big daddy is still alive after all these years under that distopia?! And how he's not like brainwashed like the other big daddies? AUGH! SO MANY QUESTIONS I WANT ANSWERED!!

PS I'm liking the changes with the splicers. They look much scarier than before.

HAHA! Steinman was my fav/best audio diary. I didn't get to hear much of the others though, because I was too chicken to play the game myself. I had to watch over my brother's shoulder ;_;

And yeah, the splicers looks WAAAY less human now. NNNGH! Plus I always go gaga over the fancy Art Deco architecture. HAHA <----nerd

I just saw Lost yesterday, and I think (not 100% sure) that was them filming at the bay. If there's fire in the next episode, then it might of been them.
